1981 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Cherry Sunburst – Tim Shaw Era
Up for sale is an incredible 1981 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe in a superb Cherry Sunburst finish. This is one of the early Tim Shaw era. Made in Nashville, TN USA. All Original, stock with its Black tolex hard case. If you know about Les Pauls, you knows these early to mid ’80s are special.
10.2 Lbs, which is average for a Les Paul.
The guitar has an Incredibly comfortable neck with rosewood fretboard. No volute like on the ’70s. It is perfectly straight, allowing pretty low action playing well all across the fretboard. A really well made refret has been made along time ago.
Aesthetically, the guitar has been definitely used and there are some honest play wear, little dings, scratches and edge wear. The yellowed binding accross the body and neck along with the glossy nitro lacquer finish brings a killer look. The headstock is in great condition. The guitar still remains in great shape overall and it’s got tons of mojo over decades of honest playing. Ideal for a player that is looking for a really nice Les Paul Deluxe that is way better, cooler and better sounding guitar than any current Deluxe.
The Mini-humbucker pickups shows the Patent number, pots are dated ’81 and everything appears to be all original. the guitar has been professionally set with a fresh set od D’addario strings and it plays great.
It will be professionally packed, insured and shipped out to Continental US only. Local Pickup in LA is also welcome at no cost.
